Artist Bio
Michael Sikorski was born in 1968 on Tachikawa AFB in Tachikawa, Japan and now resides in the Northern Liberties section of Philadelphia. He is a painter that works primarily with washes of acrylic paint to create a rendered or graphic image that is characterized by vibrant colors. He is influenced by computer graphics and the natural world and tries to incorporate both in his paintings. Michael is a self-taught artist and received an Associate’s degree from the Art Institute of Philadelphia. His artwork has been shown in group exhibitions including the Rittenhouse Square Fine Arts Annual, The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University, Parrish Art Museum, The Delaware Center for Contemporary Art, 3rd Street Gallery, Ciel Gallery, FE Gallery, John J. Audubon Center, Upstream People Online Gallery, ArtSpace 1241, Jacksonville State University, St. Augustine Art Association, 3 Square Art, Mena Art Gallery, the Philadelphia Sketch Club, Location 1980, Balance Gallery, The Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art, Upstream Gallery, Las Laguna Gallery, The Colored Pencil Society of America, Inverness County Center for the Arts, Cheltenham Center for the Arts, Corridor Contemporary, and Bridgette Mayer Gallery . He received the Best in Show award from the Cheltenham Center for the Arts and Honorable Mention Awards from the Philadelphia Sketch club, Upstream People Online Gallery and Ciel Gallery.
